CYCLIST’S FATAL FALL
SCHOOLBOY’S DEATH ACCIDENT AT CORNER (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Fatal head injuries were suffered by a boy when he fell oil’ his bicycle at Mount Roskill on Saturday afternoon. The victim was Barrce Llewellyn Bailey, aged 10, a son of Mr. Clifford Bailey, of Mount Roskill. When the accident occurred the deceased was on an errand, accompanied by three other boys. They rode down a steep grade and, it was while turning at the bottom of the hill the deceased, who had a milk billy on the handle bars of his bicycle, fell, striking his head on the paved roadway, suffering haemorrhage of the brain. Tic died in hospital. FOUND BELOW CUFF RESCUE OF YOUNG MAN RACK WITH TIDE (Pur Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. Attracted by cries for help, three youths who were rabbit-shooting in rough country near Kidnappers at (i o'clock last night found a young man standing on the edge of a cliff, seeking aid for a companion who had fallen over a short time previously. The parly made a detour and at the base of the cliff on the shingle bed discovered L. .1. Pothani, aged 20, of Hastings, seriously injured. With great difficulty, including a race with the tide, the party carried Mr. Potham to the road, where ;t doctor was summoned. The injured man was later taken to hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.
