On an officially observed test run from Auckland to Invercargill, an ordinary stock model Minx averaged 48.76 miles per gallon for the whole journey of 829 miles. All figures during the run were compiled by the Motoring Editor of the “N.Z. Standard,” who acted as observer, and all petrol used was measured and checked by him.
