GOLF IN RUATORIA
CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING OPENING DAY ON APRIL 23 (Herald Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Ruatoria Golf Club was held- in the -commercial room of the Manutahi Hotel. The balance sheet was adopted. The opening day was fixed for April 23 and iit was decided to hold -a. working bee on March 2G. An invitation is to be extended to the Tokomaru Bay and Makarika clubs to attend the opening -day. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the secretary, Mr. Owen Johnston, for ills efficient work during the past season, Mr. J. Hogan for the help he had given, the club, and to Mr. and Mrs. P. G. B-urton for putting at the club’s disposal their commercial room for committee meetings and for the many services they had rendered- the club. The subscriptions for the ensuing year were fixed at £1 5s for men and 15s for ladies. The following officers were elected: P-atron, Mr. D. J. Barry; president, Mr. P. G. Burton; vice-presidents, Messrs. -H. M. Akers, I. S. C. Dalgairns, D. B. Haworth, R. K. Wicksteed, O. T. Williams, H. T. Fox, W. Tako, R. Kawh-ia, J. H. Taplin, H. D. Evans, and Arnold Reedy; committee, secretary and treasurer, Mr. W. IT. O. Johnsiton, club captain, Mr. B. Tewai, vice-captain, Mr. A. R. Ferguson, Mr. R. Tier, and two ladies to be elected. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to the chairman, Mr. B. Tewai.
