HITLER IN MEMEL
TRANSLATION OF SPEECH BERLIN OMISSION VISIT OF THREE HOURS REVIEW OF GERMAN SHIPS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March 24, 2.40 p.m.) LONDON, March 23. Messages from Memel state that another translation of Herr Hitler's speech reads: "We have no intention of causing pain to the outside world, but we must make good the pain they have caused us. I believe we now are substantially a! the end of this making good." A Berlin message states that the official version of Herr Hitler's speech omits the reference in the earlier translation to reaching the end of reparations. Herr Hitler, after spending three hours in Memel, boarded the destroyer Leopard and reviewed the German fleet. He then returned to the battleship Deutschland, after which the fleet sailed to sea. Herr Hitler is to arrive back in Berlin tomorrow. MORE CONFIDENT TONE LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE (Reed. March 24, 2.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 23. The London Stock Exchange to-.'ay showed a more confident tone, with a slight improvement in prices all round.
