BODY FOUND IN ROOM

QUEENSLAND POLITICIAN SPEAKER OF ASSEMBLY (Rec. Mar. 25, 12.30 a.m.) BRISBANE, Mar. 24. Mr. George Pollock, aged 49 years, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, was found shot dead in a room in his suite in Parliament House. A shotgun was near the body. Mr. Pollock had been the Speaker of the Assembly for seven years, and a member of Parliament since 1915. A note which was found in the room read: "Complete nervous and mental breakdown. Can't carry on. Too much pain."
