EULOGY BY MINISTER
RETIRING A.S.R.S. HEAD ENTIIUSIASTIC LBADER (Pur Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A tribute to Mr. E. J. Dash was paid by the Minister of Railways, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, at the conclusion of a deputation from the executive council of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants. Mr. Sullivan mentioned that Mr. Dash would be retiring on superannuation shortly and was thus appearing for the last occasion at such a meeting in the capacity of president of the society. The Minister thanked Mr. Dash for the splendid -work he had achieved over a long period as an able and enthusiastic leader of the organisation and as a member of the railway service.
Mr. Dash, in thanking Mr. Sullivan, said the council appreciated the frank way in which the matters had been discussed with the deputation, adding that if the men could appreciate the Minister’s difficulties as the council appreciated them, it would be better for all concerned. Mr. Dash, commented on the very happy relations that existed throughout the council's association with Mr. Sullivan.
