INCREASING ACTIVITY INVADERS’ CASUALTIES FAST JAPANESE DELVE 'MURE TOWNS CAPTURED (Klee. Till. Conyriffht—United Press Assn ) (Reed. March 24, 1.45 p.m.) LONDON. March 22. A Chungking message states that the Chinese Foreign Ministry states that increasing activity in the war zones is revealed by the fact that 270 engagements were fought in the first halt of March', this resulting in the death of 11.300 Japanese, while 1261 were taken prisoner. A Tokio message states that, through the hitherto unsurpassed speed of the mechanised divisions, the .Japanese occupied Fengsin, the keytown of the Nanchang area. The Japanese spokesman said that the forces in South China were preparing for a spectacular campaign. Fighting was continuing at Kaingshi, where more towns have been occupied.
