CANCER RESEARCH DATA LONDON, Feb. 2. 1 Documentary material representing 12 years’ research, which he hoped would ultimately contribute to a solution of the cancer scourge was stolen i early to-day from the home of Dr. Anthony ‘ Magian, a noted authority . on the disease. Thieves ransacked desks and drawers in the surgeon's residence. He described the loss as a “deadening blow" and appealed to the thieves not to destroy the papers. He said that all records of his new treatment were gone and that if not returned it will take him years to pick up on his work. Dr. Magian, director of St. Margaret’s Cancer Clinic, has written a j score of works on the subject, j The thieves scattered germ-poisoned I fruit on the office iloor. Dr. Magian said he could not tell whether they' had eaten any of the poisonous apples and oranges with which he had been conducting experiments. If they were eaten, he said, they probably would cause acute illness and possibly death. Dr. Magian said one robber apparently took a bite from ah ornamental wax apple. Silver ornaments and other valuable furnishings in the scientist's home were ignored. Several rooms were ransacked but only the cancer records were taken.
