NEW PILOT BOAT
TOKOMARU BAY PURCHASE BUILT IN AUCKLAND (Spi'ciftl to (lie Humid.) AUCKLAND, this day. A new pilot boat for the Tokomaru Bay Harbour Board was launched from tiie yards of C. Bailey and Son. Limited, yesterday. The boat is to replace one which was built by the same firm about 25 years ago and was wrecked a few months ago. Built very solidly for use in heavy setts, the new vessel, which has been named Tuna, is 30ft. in length, Oft. in beam, and has a draught of 3ft. (Jin. It has been eonsu'uotect on the tripleskinned principle and is strengthened with copper sheathing. Because of the nature of its work, it has also been fitted with buoyancy tanks. A 28 horse-power Diesel engine will drive it at a maximum speed of about 81 knots.
