SCHOONER’S FAST TRIP
PATIENT FOR HOSPITAL BARRIER, TO AUCKLAND (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A fast trip from Great Barrier Island to Auckland to land a passenger who became ill suddenly was made by the American pleasure schooner, Navigator, yesterday. Leaving the Great Bander shortly after 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the Navigator arrived at Auckland before 9 o'clock. The sick passenger, Mr. Bryan Dancey, was admitted to a private hospital in Auckland. He is not in a serious condition. The Navigator, which is owned by Mr. G. Harton Singer, junior, of Pittsburgh, was making for the Bay of Islands where the party intends to go deep-sea fishing when she put in for shelter at Great Bander Island. It was found that Mr. Dancey had a high temperature. In the absence of a doctor it was decided to bring him to Auckland. The schooner left to-day to continue her trip.
