SUSPECT REMANDED

CHARGE OF ASSAULT PONSONBY INCIDENT (I’m- Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. Raymond George McKenzie, aged 34, a slaughterman, appeared before Mr. C. R. Orr-Walker in the Police Court to-day, charged with assault so as to cause actual bodily harm. Detective-Sergeant Walsh, 'in asking for a remand until March 30, said it was ,t'hat a young married woman was struck on the head with a bottle and otherwise badly iIL-treated. The accused had not been in any trouble before, but if bail was asked for, he would suggest that it be substantial. . Counsel applied for bail and the magistrate granted a remand, fixing bail at £l5O.
