BEACH HOOLIGANISM
YOUNG MEN FINED CURLS COMMENDED (Per Pross Association.) i NEW PLYMOUTH, this day. Hooliganism at a beach camping resort resulted yesterday in the prosecution of two young men, Nichola; Goodwin, and Lloyd Anzac Thomas, who were charged in the Police Court with disorderly behaviour at Oakura Beach. Each was fined £2. Commenting - on the difficulty of detecting such oll'ences, of which the police said many reports had been received, the Magistrate, Mr. W. H, Woodward, commended two young girls who made the complaint and made an order prohibiting the publication of their names. He did not think they were confirmed hooligans, he said to the offenders, or he would have sent them to gaol.
