GAMES AT THE OVAL TO-DAY'S EARLY SCORES Club cricket matches were played in Gisborne to-day under ideal weather conditions. Apart from the match between Gisborne Club and High School A, which was the only one in senior championship cricket remaining to be decided, players in the A and B. grades were occupied with the first of the series of one-day fixtures organised by the Poverty Bay Cricket Association as the final round of play for the season. The scores at the Oval at 2.30 p.m. were:— Senior A Grade City v. G.H.S.O.B.—City, first innings, one wkkert; down for 20 (J. K. Somervell 16 not out). Old Boys v. Marist.—Old Boys, first innings, two wickets for 23 (I. Niven 11). Senior B Grade United B v. United A—United B, first innings, no wickets for 21 (B. Birrell 10 not out). Maris 1 , v. City. —Marist, first innings, four wickets for 16 (P. McMahon 12); R. Barbour took four wickets for five runs.
