FATAL JUMP FROM TRAIN
YOUTH'S HEAiJ INJURIES DEATH f:\ HOSPITAL (Por Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this- day. Fatal injuries were suffered by a 15-year-old youth, Alfred Capper, of Greenlano, when he jumped from a moving train about.4oo yards north of the Otahuhu railway station. The boy, who was employed at the Westfield freezing works, was thrown heavily to the gravel at the side of the .track and suffered a fractured skull. He died in the Auckland hospital. The lad boarded a special race train for Paeroa at Greenlano on-his way to work, but the train did not slop at Westfield. He attempted to alight from the train shortly after it had passed his stop, but he fell heavily. The crew of the train knew nothing .of the mishap. After his fall the boy was seen to get up and begin to walk away. A few minutes later, however, he collapsed. He was found by a porter, who stopped the next engine to pass the spot. The ambulance was called from Auckland and the lad was taken to hospital. He was suffering from a fractured skull, shock and abrasions.
