Softball Popular
Sponsored and introduced in New Zealand by members of the Mormon faith, softball, a revised form of American baseball, is proving 'popular throughout the Dominion and in several centres strong leagues take part in competition games. The new sport has gained swift popularity in Gisborne. It is admirably suited as a women’s game and has become very popular with girl pupils of the Gisborne High School,' who are displaying marked enthusiasm for and no mean ability at the game.
