BRITAIN’S PRINCESSES

PRESENTATION OF PRIZES CHILD RIDERS’ CONTEST LONDON. March 9. The Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret performed their first public duly alone at a pony show at the Royal Agricultural. Hall, when they presented the prizes to the winning child riders. It was the desire of the King and the Queen not to accompany them, so as to give the Princesses their first lesson in deportment while playing a leading role in public. The Princesses, who wore rust-red velvet coats, walked down the centre of the arena with the utmost confidence, and rubbed the ponies’ noses. They smilingly presented the rosettes and looked round for more.
