EXPLOSION IN SHOP

When a charge or blasting powder exploded unexpectedly in the Barlon Brothers’ blacksmith’s shop, Dannevirke, Mr. E. Hurliman was extensively .burnt on the .back ana arms. When the gun was last used only part of the charge exploded. Tile gun was placed in the fire and Mr. Hurliman, who was working near- with his back turned to the lire, caught the full force of the charge. After receiving medical atention he was able to go home.
