CLOSING OF CASTLE
MILLIONAIRE DUKE ANY! ENT FORTRESS LONDON, Mar. 4. The 26-year-old millionaire Duke of Northumberland, referring to the closing of the ancient border fortress —-Alnwick Castle which has been the home of his family, the Percys, for 630 years, said: “I did so because of heavy death duties, taxes and loss of coal royalties.” The Duke will, in future, live in i 20-roomed house at a village four miles from the castle, which has 200 rooms. The Duke of Northumberland was formerly Parliamentary private secretary to the Secretary of State for Air.
