PRO-NAZI REGIME

SWAY IN PRAGUE PRESSURE FROM HITLER DISCUSSION WITH SLOVAKS CLAIM TO INDEPENDENCE PARLIAMENT SUMM ON ED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. March 14. 2.50 p.m.) LONDON. March 13. The Independent Cable Service reports that well-informed circles in Berlin expect the fall of the Prague Government under pressure from HenHitler and’ the substitution of a completely pro-Nazi regime. Herr Hitler, and the deposed Premier of Slovakia, M. Tiso, togethei with M. Durcanski, were in conference for 40 minutes in Berlin to-day. A guard of honour and a roll of drums greeted M. Tiso, thereby giving an official character to the visit.

Despite the dismissal of M. Tiso by the Prague Government it was semiofficially announced in Berlin that Germany was • sending a note to Czechoslovakia demanding the right of Slovakian self-determination and the reconstruction of the Prague Government from which Generals Elias and Sirovy would be dismissed and also guaranteeing protection of the German minorities in Bohemia and Moravia.

. Subsequently, official circles in Berlin declared that M. Tiso, with German approval, was proclaiming Slovak independence to Parliament to-mor-row.

Cabinet Reconstruction

Czech circles stated that Czechoslovakia accepted the German demands for Slovak independence and agreed to the Prague Cabinet .reconstruction on the lines suggested. M. Tiso is flying from Berlin to Bratislava to-day and is expected to make an important statement to Parliament.

Best-informed circles in Prague believe there is no hope of retaining Slovakia within the republic. Herr Karmasin, the leader of tho German minority in Slovakia, accompanied M. Tiso to Germany. A Prague report states that M. Tiso, after the interview with Herr Hitler, requested an extraordinary session of the Slovak Parliament to-morrow morning, to which the Czech President. Dr. Hacha, agreed. M. Mach announced in Prague that a telegram from M. Tiso stated that the Slovak question could be solved on the basis of constitutional self-determination for the Slovaks.

In Bratislava it is believed that Slovakia is about to become an independent nation with German support under German influence.

It is expected that the independence of the Carpatho-Ukraine will also be proclaimed.
