March 14, 2.30 p.m.) LONDON, March 13. j A message from Shanghai states I that Chinese guerilla troops attackled a Nanking Government patrol in the western suburbs, after which Japanese reinforcements made a house-to-house search without result. The Japanese claim the capture of a village opposite Shayang, 25 miles from Shasi, an important Yangtse port, which apparently is the next objective. The Chinese claim to have launched a counter offensive in the west Shansi area.
The Japanese in an air raid on Loyang, demolished 400 houses and caused 50 casualties.
