Despite the present difficulties, there are indications in the latest figures of shipments of oranges and grapefruit that the trade of Palestine in certain directions continues to improve, giving rise to the hope that, with the return of normal conditions, a further period of prosperity is in prospect.
Citrus plantations owned by Arabs new cover 135,000 metric dunams, those owned by Jews being slightly less in total area.
