COPPER DEPOSITS
None of the many copper deposits in New Zealand has proved of commercial value, and the chances of those known are not promising, according to Dr. J. Henderson, of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research. In an article in the Journal of Science and Technology, Dr. Henderson states that by far the greater part of the total production of ore, amounting to 5032 tons, was mined more than 70 years ago. Only a' few tons have been extracted during the present century, though a good deal of prospecting has been done.
