DEMPSTER STRIKES FORM ENGLISHMEN MAKE 434 WATTS CONTRIBUTES 84 OTAGO 63 FOR ONE (Pur Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. There was entertaining cricket for a crowd of nearly 3000 spectators at Carisbrook on Saturday afternoon for the second day of the match between Sir Julien Cahn's team and Otago. On the first day Otago had scored 184 in its first innings and the visitors 105 for three wickets. On Saturday Sir Julien Cahn's players carried thentotal to 434, and Otago batted for an hour and a quarter before stumps and scored 63 for the loss of one wicket.

Features of the day's play were the double century by Dempster and the fast-scoring partnership between Dempstei and Watts, who hit two sixes.
