LODGE BEATS TE KARAKA M AN<.' A I'A PA ODDFELLOWS By a margin of (three wickets, a cricket team representing the Mangapapa Oddfellows' Lodge defeated Te Karaka on the Oval during the weekend.

Te Karaka, batting first, made only 75, J. Livingston and H. McMillan taking some cheap wickets. Mangapapa secured a lead of 36 runs on the first innings, but rtJhe visitors set the home team a more difficult task in the second by putting on 142 runs for the loss of seven wickets, and declared. The partnership between McGrannachan and Hardacre was a valuable one, contributing 82 runs, taking the score to !)4 for three wickets down. Mangapapa commenced their second innings badly, losing four wickets for 19. but Livingstone and P. Rohan stopped the rot, and raised the score by a further 95 to 114 before they were separated, giving the side sufficient runs for victor>.
