HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS . ANNUAL MEETING The Gisborne High School Old Boys’ Football Club held its annual meeting in Le Grand Cate on Thursday evening. There was a good attendance. In taking the chair Mr. Hugo Wan expressed pleasure at seeing so many of the younger members of the club present. The speaker also congratulated the club on its sound u.ianciai position, and the success ,i nau enjoyed on tne iield last sea..on. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr. J. Hutton; president, Mr. P. Edmondson; vice-,.residents, Dr. W. A. Bowie, Messrs, ju. Harley, C. W. Muir, H. D. Chrisp, A. H. Lange, E. A. Collett, Rees Allan, V. Caulton, G. N. Lockett, S. D. Reeves, J. K. Popple, R. Webb, E. Haisman, D. Tamaruro, and S, K. White; lion, secretary ana treasurer, Mr. E. Phillips; club captain, Mr. R. Forsyth; horn auditor, Mr. E. James; delegate to Poverty Bay Rugby Union. Me. G, Caulton; committee, Messrs. W. Morrison, R Francis, T. McGuffie, D. Corstorpliine, M. Smith, P. Gardner, H. Ballantyne, R. Sim, and the captains of (he junior and third-grade teams.

The prospect of a match at Easter between the club's senior team and Hastings High School Old Boys, to be played in Gisborne, was mentioned and it was decided that club practices should commence at the High School grounds on March 11. The committee was instructed to go into the matter of raising funds to assist players who might receive injury on the Held. It was pointed out that such a fund would be established apart from any scheme arranged by tile PovertV Bay Rugby Union. It was agreed to organise an efficiency competition amongst club members for a cup to be known as the Arthur Webb Memorial Cup. Tha competition would be organised on the basis of keer.v.ess in turning out to practice, correctness of uniform and improvement in play during the season. Sixteen new members were enrolled.
