NAVAL MEN INJURED
CAPSIZE OF MOTOR CAR DRIVER SERIOUSLY HURT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A fractured skull and lacerations were suffered by Petty Officer Alexander Woods, aged 30, of H.M.S. Philomel, when a small two-seater car he was driving went out of control and capsized on Lake road, Takapuna. The other occupant of the car, Petty Officer Robert Gwilliam, also of H.m!s. Philomel, suffered lacerations Petty Officer Woods’ condition is regarded as fairly serious.
DEATH FROM INJURIES FALL FROM LADDER FATALITY AT HILLSIDE (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, this day. Failing on to a concrete floor from a height of L3ft from a ladder on which lie was working at the Hillside workshops on Saturday morning, John Reid, a married man, residing at 40 Falcon street, Roslyn, Dunedin, received head injuries from which he died at the Dunedin Hospital ab-ut 9 o’clock yesterday morning.
He was admitted to the hospital at midday on Saturday and was placed on me dangerouslv-il! list. His condition did not improve and he died without recovering consciousness.
