WIN FOR CLASSICAL HIGHWEIGHT TO PATCHES (Par Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s summer meeting was concluded today. The weather was perfect and there was a large attendance. The track was in excellent order. Results:—
January Handicap, of £100; C furlongs.—3 Classical, 8.5 (Stowe), 1; 1 Mimicry, 8.9 (Marsh), 2; 4 Halley, 8.1 (Campbell),-3. Scr.: Elettra, Charles Hugo. Won by half a head; threeauarters of a length. Time, 1.14 3-5. Aotea Highweight Handicap, of £100; li miles.—3 Patches, 9.4 (Bush), 1; 7 Tareha, 9.2 .(Griffiths), 2; 1 Parry (Lord), 3. All started. Won by three lengths; two lengths. Time, 2.10 2-5.
Matapiro Flying Handicap, of £100; 6 furlongs.—3 Red Witch, 7.9 (Mudford), 1; 6 Morning Flight, 7.7 (Callahan), 2; 7 Hunting Royal, 7.7 (Marsh), 3. Scratched: Diana Tetrix, Royal Spades, Royal Ace. Won by a neck; a neck. Time, 1.14.
