The cricket test match between South Africa and the touring Marylebone team was drawn. The tourists to-day carried the overnight score of 103 runs for one wicket to 291 lor four and declared, and at the call of time South Africa in the second strike had scored 108 runs at the cost of one wicket. After a quiet opening to-day, Gibb and Paynter became more aggressive. Gibb reached his century in 184 minutes. Paynter took five minutes longer. Playing for a draw the South African batsmen declined to take any risk and the batting was very dull. Details of scores are: — M.C.C.
