Wanganui, Harbour Finances

The need for a strict review ot the Wanganui Harbour Board's finances was stressed by the chairman, Mr. N. G. Armstrong, at a recent meeting when he drew members' attention to the fact that the general account was £30,000 overdrawn, £220 more than in November last year, and expenditure seemed to be increasing. "Increasing costs and shorter hours are one side of the problem," said Mr. Armstrong. "On the revenue side there has been a drop, but that is not as bad a,s it seems, as there have not been tlie usual ships coming into port in November. They will enter 'the port later in the season.
