PIG IRON DISPUTE

SYDNEY, Dec. 23.

Approximately 1200 men have been dismissed from the Port Kemlbla steel works this week and it is expected that between ■ 2000 and 3000 will be paid ofr before the end of the week and that certain departments will be closed indefinitely, because of the waterfront dispute arising out of the refusal of the whanf labourers to load pig iron for Japan.
