N.Z. FILM ACTOR RETURNS
COLIN TAPLEY'S HOPE PARTS IN T COMEDY (Pur Press Association.) DUNEDIN. this day. Mr. Colin Tapley, the New Zealand actor, who is well established _ in Hollywood, returned by the liner Monterey on a holiday after an absence of six years, leaving by air at noon for his home in Dunedin. Mr. Tapley, smilingly, said he was not married and he was being very careful in that regard as he would not look on it as many film people did. He made about (JO pictures and had played practically every part possible. He has no ambition to play romantic leads. "All I like is comedy. There is security in comedy and character roles. The average film life of a star is about seven years."
