Fine Three-Year-Old
Footloose has gone the right way since Feilding and, though H. Dulieu his given him little galloping, he will be ready for the holiday racing. He has furnished into a fine looking three-year-old. For Taranaki Bing Boy's forward condition was emphasised by two fine races on the fiat at Woodville, and he will give the hurdlers at New Plymouth all they are looking for on Monday. Bing Boy needs a firm track to show his best form. Smoke Screen Smoke Screen, who will be ridden in the Railway Handicap at Ellerslie by W. J. Broughton, returned from Woodville greatly improved by his race there. In his final sprint before leaving Wanganui, Smoke Screen slipped over half a mile in a shade under 52sec. and as the gallop was wide out on the course prope" and he was doing it easily all the way there is reason to believe that he will play an important part in his engagements at Ellerslie. His race at Woodville was his first start since he was beaten out of a place in the Awapuni Cup last autumn, the only time he had not managed to get into the money.
