MANCHESTER UNITY
GISBORNE LODGE MEETING ELECTION OF OFFICERS The quarterly meeting of the Manchester Unity Oddfellows Loyal Gisborne Lodge, 0087, was held last evening, when there was a large attendance. Sister S. E. Cousins, N.G., presiding. The principal business was the election of officers, this resulting as follows:—N.G., Bro. J. Clark; V.G., Sister R. W. Wallen; E.S., Sister O. Bannister. There were four candidates for the position of E.S. A welcome was extended to Bro. and Sister Pask, P.G.'s, Loyal Manchester Lodge, Feilding, who are in the district on a holiday visit. Bro. R. W. Wallen reported that on a visit to Auckland during the weekend he met Bro. J. Hughes, a member of the Loyal Gisborne Lodge who left to reside 'in Australia two years ago. Bro. Hughes had returned from Australia, and was now in business in the north. The White degree was conferred on two candidates, the district officer, Bro. F. T. Robinson, P.G., being the degree master. Following the closing ode, which was played by Sister F. L. Barker, the meeting adjourned to 'the supperroom for refreshments.
