On Saturday the Y.M.C.A. pack held the weekly meeting on Kaiti Eeach. A fair number turned up, and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent. Roll call was held near the Cook Monument, after which the cubs got down and spent an hour on the sand. The cubs showed skill iv. their respective modelling, but the best attempt was that of C. Booth, a castle. Luis Corn's Maori redoubt, was easily second, while David Poswillo's fort was third, in order of merit. Later, the cubs'were taken up Kaiti hill. Next Saturday all cubs will meet at the back of'Y.M.C.A. on the tennis court, as the building will be used for polling. The pack sends another "cheerio to" Francis Sayers, and hopes to see him again soon. Y.M.C.A. Troop The usual Saturday parade of the Y.M.C.A. troop was held on October 3, when 27 Scouts turned out. The troop met at f> p.m. for tea. The harmonica quartet played selections. Eleven boys passed their secondclass first and test, and these same boys then had some semaphore signalling, shaping very well. Later, eight lads made an effort to pass their second-class test in signalling, but the lime was 100 short to finalise it. After prayers were read by the Scoutmaster, Mr. A. Williams, parade was dismissed at 9.15 p.m. This week Scouts will parade on Thursday evening at. 6.30 till 8 o'clock. There will be no parade on Saturday owing to the elections. Mangapapa Troop On Wednesday evening 17 Scout-: of the Mangapapa troop attended for roll call and inspection at the weekly parade, held in Scout Hall Brycc street. Scoutmaster D. Corstorphine and A.S.M. B. Crosby, had control ol the proceedings. First-class, and sec-ond-class ambulance work was carried out, under Mr. Crosby, while second-class signalling, and tenderfoot work was supervised by the Scoutmaster. The boys who are making the Sydney trip from now on are holding an extra parade each week, so as lo gain a little more Scouting knowledge and to keep in line with other Scout.in this district, who are having extra parades. Next Tuesday the jamboree business will be discussed more fully. Tolaga Bay Group The weekly parade of the Tolaga Bay group was held last Friday and a busy evening was spent preparing for the concert. While most of the boys were rehearsing their play some of the vounger lads did some signalling work 'under the watchful eye of AssistantScoutmaster Sammy. After the play the troop had a merry camp fire to work up some ideas for Thursday. A mouth organ solo toy Allan -was much appreciated, also an oration. Mangapapa Tack
