A. D. LOCKE'S GOLF TOUR
INCLUSION OF GISBORNE SOUTH AFRICAN PRODIGY Hailed in his homeland as the young South African golf prodigy, A, D. (Bobby) Locke, who is also recognised as being in the top flight in world golfing circles, will include Gisbome in his present exhibition tour of the Dominion. Locke will arrive at Gisborne or, Monday, October 24, and will play on the Awapuni links on the following day.
It has not yet 'been decided whether the game will be a two-ball or fourball one, but it has been rumoured that the Gisborne professional. All' Guy, accepts Locke's challenge for a match and it is understood that the executive of the Poverty Bay Golf Club may decide to sponsor such a contest. 11. is also rumoured that some of the amateurs who would normally make up a four-ball match are prepared to stand down and make up a wager for the winner of the contest between the visitor s.ud Guy. The South African will be accompanied on his tour by Mr. J. Mines, Australian and New Zealand manager for Sluzengers. who will act as .lis manager.
