M. McG. Cooper, who captained the Wellington B Rugby representatives, who defeated Marlborough at Blenheim recently, is a former New Zealand Rhrries Scholar. He played for Oxford University and also represented Scotland. • * * * The English summer has been one of the wettest on record, and as a result the Australian cricket tour has suffered financially. The visit will show a profit, and a good one, but it will not be up to expectations. It is estimated that rain has cost Australia something like £7OOO.
