AFTER A CABARET
INTOXICATED DRIVER FINK OF £25 IMFOSKI) (Pur Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. Arrestod at l.iil) yesterday morning in Britomart Place, Richard Henry Arthur Chatfieki, aged 24. a 'motor mechanic, admitted in the Police Court to-day that he was in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motor car. The police said that a constable saw the car pull up and found Chatfield sitting on the rear bumper of the vehicle. He was intoxicated but not drunk in the ordinary sense. Accused admitted to the constable that he had taken liquor, having driven a friend home after a cabaret and had a beer and gin. Counsel said that Chatfield bad previously borne an unblemished character. Mr. C. R. Orr Walker, S.M.. imposed a line of .1125 and cancelled accused’s license for It! months. He said that men should not take liquor when they would have to drive motor cars. MOTOR-CYCLIST FINED iNTOXiFATiON FjiAKCE (Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, last night.
