S( 'HOUR COMMITTEE (Herald Correspondent.) The Motuhora School Committee met recently. Mr. Clowes being in the chair. Messrs. W Rowe, W. H. McCuliYry, J. Tomlinson, and B. Curry also were present. It was decided to form a working bee to improve tlit* ’.rounds, and put down paths. A .lance is to be held in the Motuhora Hall on October 22 to raise funds for he annual picnic and prizes. Sim. in the sports entered into by the children, and as a result of his coaching the school is the possessor of a challenge cup. won at the sports meeting in Te Karaka Mr. Sim reported that the roll stood at 25. and if the attendance was kept an an assistant would be appointed.

A meeting of the Motuhora Tennis Club was held recently, when the secretary, Mr. J. Quinn, reposted that the court had been top-dressed and marked in preparation for the official opening of the season, to be held next week-end, weather permitting. A Yankee tournament is being arranged, and players from the clubs of the surrounding district are invited to participate. Members of St. Paul’s Guild are making elaborate preparations for the ball to be held in the Motu Hall on 'to iday.
