UNIVERSITY SENATE
ELECTION NEXT MONTH EIGHT CANDIDATES (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The election to the senate of the University of New Zealand of five representatives of graduates will take place on October 5 and the results will' be announced about October 14. The last election three years ago wc>ik not contested, but this year there are eight nominations, including those of. the five sitting members. The nominees are: Mrs. Gertrude Helen Benson, M.A., wife of Professor Benson, Otago University; Mr. F. H. Campbell, M.A., Dunedin; Mr. N. M. P. Gibson, M.A., Auckland; Mr. F. A. De La Mare, 8.A., LL.B.; Mr. A. E. Flower, M.A., M.Sc, Christchurch; Dr. William Newlands, M.A., B.Sc. (N.Z.), M.8.Ch.8. (Edinburgh;, F.R.C.S. (Edinburgh), Dunedin; Professor G. W. Von Zedlitz, M.A. (Oxford), Wellington; Mr. T. U. Wells, M.A., Auckland. Those nominees, who are sitting members are Messrs. De La Mare, Flower, Dr. Newlands, Professor Von Zedlitz, and Mr. Wells. All graduates . of the University of New Zealand are eligible to vote in the election.
