MARINE INSURANCE
500 PER CENT INCREASE DOMINION-AUSTRALIA (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. An increase of 500 per cent in the insurance of marine policies, including war risk, on cargoes shipped between New Zealand and Australia, has been announced by the Dominion marine underwriters. Until recently the war risk rate between the two countries was Cd per cent, but by the decision of the underwriters it has been advanced to 2s Gd per cent. It is understood thai the rate may be revised at the weekend. Not all the marine insurance companies operating in the Dominion are said to be prepared to accept war risks either on inter-colonial shipments or overseas. Marine underwriters have previously announced enormous increases on overseas war risk insurances, and these, as well as inter-colonial war insurance, are novv explained as being subject to 48 hours' notice of cancellation up to the time of shipment:
