Trousers for Women Golfers
Women members of Timperley (Cheshire) Golf Club are indignant because a committee of eight men have banned women wearing trousers on the club course. Many women refuse to acquiesce, and 'the club secretary confesses ignorance as to how the committee can enforce the regulation. M.-os Pam Barton says men should keep their opinions to themselves. “1 shall continue to wear trousers in wet weather, as they keep my stockings dry.” A Sydney authority on women’s golf states that it is customary for English women golfers to wear trousers in wet weather. The costume is allowed by the. English Ladies’ Golf Union. In most important fixtures, competitors play in trousers for many of the matches. Trousers, however, are banned by the New South Wales Ladies’ Golf Union.
