Political Organisers
CAREER claiming an increasing number of young women in Britain is that of political party organisers. A few months ago the Conservatives were combing the country for young women with necessary qualifications. Now they have it down to a system. Before taking the preliminary examination the candidate must have spent a month working in a constituency under the supervision of a certified woman organiser or constituency agent, under such conditions as would give her an insight into the work of women’s political organisation. After passing this first examination she is given six months further training. No woman can sit for the final examinations until she is 23. She Is required to satisfy the examiners of her knowledge of the conduct of meetings, methods of political education and propaganda, various aspects of registration, procedure in connection with nominations, election offences and the organisuticn of a canvass. Several hundred Conservatives will start oil' on this career at examinations this month.
