SEARCH FOR LOST CLIPPER
MEIGS TAKEN OFF NAVY UNITS CONTINUE (Rord. August 5, 10.30 a.m.) MANILA, August 3. The transport vessel Meigs has abandoned the search for the Pan American Airways Clipper which has been missing since Friday when it left Hawaii for Manila on a service flight. Naval units are remaining Planes are not expected to continue the search.
