SCHOOL MOTOR CARS

ORDER FOR EXEMPTION FITNESS CERTIFICATE (Per Prtiss Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The fitness certilicate (school motor car) exemption order, 1938, was issued with the Gazette last night. This sets out that any motor car, as defined by section 2 of the Motor Vehicles Act. 1924, if in the carriage of passengers for hire or reward, it is used solely for the transport of school children not exceeding seven in number, and not exceeding by more than two the designed adult passenger-carrying capacity of the motor car. For the purpose of this schedule the word "passenger" does not include the driver. These vehicles are exempted from the requirements of section 38 of tiie Transport Licensing Act, 1931, as to a certilicate of fitness being in force with respect to such vehicles while they are used in connection with a passenger service.
