N.Z. WOOL PRODUCTION
TOTAL OF 855,138 BALES 70,281 BALES HELD OVER AVERAGE OF 10D PER LB. The New Zealand wool production last season totalled 855,138 bales, according to statistics compiled by Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, for the firm's annual review. Of the total, 759,308 bales were of greasy wool and 95,830 bales of slipe. A total of 629,671 bales were sold in New Zealand and 84,061 bales were shipped on account of the growers: A summary of the position regarding wool soid, shipped and held is given as under: — Sold in New Zealand. —Greasy, 625.119 bales: scoured, 184 bales; slipe. 4368 bales; total, 629,671 bales. Shipped A/c Growers. Greasy, 69,855 bales; scoured, 11,007 bales; slipe, 3199 bales; total, 84,061 bales. Held in N.Z.—Greasy wool: Held in brokers' stores, 28,649 bales; clients' sheds (approx.), 16,192 bales; total greasy wool held over, 44,841 bales. Scoured and slipe wool: Held in brokers' stores, 2068 bales; clients' sheds. 568 bales; freezing works, 22,804 bales; total scoured and slipe wool held over, 25,440 bales. Total carry over, 70,281 bales.
