Less than 40 years ago the existing New York hotels had only 4200 private baths for an aggregate of 29,800 guest rooms. In a recent report 425 hotels with over 160,000 rooms had more than 150,000 bathrooms. In short, in most of the hotels and in all of the newer hotels there is a bathroom for every guest. And it is said they are used sometimes twice a day.
