“A Pretty Little Brunette”
IN 1921 a pretty little brunette named 1 Elsie'R'andolph was a member of the chorus in Buchanan’s musical stage productions. Impressed by her looks and personality, he gave -her a few small bits in subsequent shows. He eventually made her his leading lady In “That’s a Good Girl.” When he was asked to make “That’s a Good Girl” for the screen it was only natural that he should take Elsie Randolph to play opposite him. She has since appeared opposite Buchanan ir. many other films, most recent oi which was “Smash and Grab.” Anna Neagle is another of Buchanan’s discoveries. In 1900 Anna was appearing in C. B. Cochran’s shows when Buchanan spotted her for his leading lady in “Stand Up and Sing.” She made her screen debut with him shortly afterwards in “Goodnight Vienna.”
