Viscount Runciman, who is to visit the Czech capita! in compliance with the request of the Czech Government to mediate in the efforts being made to reach agreement by the administration and the Sudeten German Party, is now expeeled to reach Prague on Wednesday. His arrival at Prague will coincide with the reassembly of the Czech Parliament, but the prospects of an early solution of the problems in hand are not improved by the publication of 'Sudeten German pamphlets notifying the intention to '•contribute materially to a continuation of the discussions by giving all parlies a clear picture of the scope of the Government's proposals." The pamphlets virtually reject the proposed nationalities statute as inadequate and inconsistent with amelioration of the legal rights of the minorities, it being contended that the proposals are merely for a modification of the existing laws, which have proved inadequate. The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says that Herr Hitler's airle de camp, Captain Wiedemann, spent the week-end in conference with unidentified Englishmen near Berlin.
