The phenomenal rainfall of the past week is reflected in the surface ac-
cumulation of water in many areas which normally arc well drained. On Awapuni road, between Stanley road and the Poverty Bay Golf Club's pavilion, a length of 2A chains of the roadway was covered with surfacewater to-day. This section was norm ally well above water-level.
