FLOOD DANGER REMOVED
HAWKE'S BAY UNDER SNOW HIGH COUNTRY COVERED (Per Prsssr Association.) HASTINGS, this day. The prolonged period of bad weather throughout Hawke's Bay broke yesterday. Unless further rain develops, it is likely that all danger of further flooding has been removed. There is a possibility that the rivers in the province will rise rapidly as the snow on the higher country melts, but it is impossible as yet to judge what the rise will be. No rain fell at Hastings yesterday. All the high country in the province is still covered with snow, but this should disappear with milder weather. ■ . Although high, the Ngaruroro and Tutaekuri Rivers did not appear to be dangerous yesterday. All the main roads in the province are now open.
